Move over, Garth, because it's Shania Twain's turn for a comeback! The country star just announced tour dates — her last tour ever — and now she's spilling the details of a new album on the horizon.

Sadly, Twain's Rock This Country tour will be her last trip on the road, but it's expected to be one to remember. The tour kicks off in June and runs through August, hitting both the U.S. and Canada. But that won't be all we hear from the icon, as she's still moving forward on a new album, which will be her first since 2002's Up!

“The songs are going great,” she tells Radio.com. "I’ve been putting them together for a really long time now. They’ve been whirling around in my head, so I’ve got a pile of things, way too much for one album.”

When asked, Twain struggles to find a word to describe her new project, but reveals it's reminiscent of soul music.

“It’s hard for me to put my finger on it; I don’t know how to explain it,” she says. “One of the producers involved, we were talking about how to describe it in words and he said, ‘This is soul. This is soul music.'"

“It’s not like my music was ever traditional anyway," she admits. "I don’t think anybody expects that from me. Nothing that I’m doing is traditional. Certainly, as I reflect back on listening to this stuff, it reminds me a lot of the influences that I had growing up. There’s influences from my childhood in the music that I’m writing now."

Though Twain is enthusiastic about the new tunes, she's not going to be playing them on her tour. Instead, she wants to give fans what they're hoping for: classic Twain!

“I want everyone to hear the hits,” the star explains. “When I go to a show I want to hear songs that I know. So I won’t be introducing any of the new songs from the new music in this concert."
