Cherokee County law officers Friday morning arrested a man suspected of critically stabbing another man Thursday afternoon during an argument in the Shadybrook subdivision near Lake Palestine.

The suspect, 31 year old Shawn Anthony Reep fled the scene after he allegedly stabbed the victim in abdomen. Joshua Johnson, 31 of Bullard who was flown to ETMC in Tyler is in ICU recovering from his stab wound.

Reep was found hiding under a pile of blankets inside a small travel trailer near a house he had been known to frequent. Police took him into custody without incident.

During Thursdays altercation , Reep suffered an injury to his head when he ran into a neighbor’s house threatening the homeowner with a knife. The homeowner grabbed a display sword and struck Reep causing him to bleed profusely.

Reep has a parole warrant for his arrest, and additional charges are pending.
