For the past couple of years I’ve grown accustomed to hearing the school bus stop in front of the house and pick up the kid across the street around 6:55 in the morning for his ride to school. I think that is a little too early for an elementary school kid to catch a bus, but that’s the system, until now. Tyle rISD has announced new bus schedules, which will save money and time while riding the bus.
Somehow another summer has flown by and the kiddos are headed back to school again. Sure, that means vacations are over, the house will be empty and days at the pool are numbered. But what it also means is that it’s time to shop for supplies.
It’s back to school already? One thing I always dread doing is paying for school supplies. Each and every year they get more expensive. With some schools asking you to bring more than any one child could use, it's tough. Us moms and dads are always looking for the deals on school supplies, and I put together some ideas that I think might be helpful.
As a college student, I know how difficult it is to pay for college. Not only do you have to pay tuition, but you have to pay for everything that comes along with it, like books. Well this weekend you can save some money by not paying taxes on some of those things!
It's already time to get the kids ready for the new school year. That means new clothes (and in some cases, uniforms), shoes, backpacks, lunch boxes and school supplies. Have you parents noticed that every year the list of school supplies multiply? It looks like we are buying enough supplies for the entire class instead of just our own kids.
We're not far from the beginning of the new school year. So, let's enjoy the rest of our summer vacation by being completely lazy and watching some of the best movies about life in school. We take a look at our favorites, and all of these are required watching before you step foot back in the classroom. Or, if you're already out of school, your kids need to see these (age appropriate, of course).
We as college students are very good at procrastination. If you are like me, and are stressing out because the year has started and you still don't have your books, don't panic. Research shows that textbooks for college students is an average of an extra $900/year. You're already paying thousands of dollars to go to school there, spending hundreds of dollars more just adds on so much more stress. Trust me, I've been there. I've done some research and found the best places to get your text books at a discounted cost, saving you much stress and more importantly, more money. More after the jump.
Who says you can’t have your cake and eat it, too? With a good carpool in place, you can save time and money. It just takes a little bit of planning and a willingness to flow with whatever the morning gives you. Here are five tips to help your carpool get off without a hitch.
