Kilgore Vote Agaist Banning ‘Texing While Driving’
Last week Governor, Rick Perry vetoed a "Texting While Driving" ban. But East Texan communities are taking action on this very danger practice. Months ago Kilgore City Council had been discussing passing their own ban but were waiting to see what measures the state took. More after the jump.

May 27, 2011 I proudly tell everyone I meet I'm from East Texas where neighbors look after neighbors. Proudly we are reaching out to help the people in Joplin, MO pick up the pieces with a fellow East Texan - Brad Hawkins.
Brad's family sent me an email telling me about how their sprint racing team is taking the time to bring much needed supplies to the good people in Joplin, MO. The Hawkins racing team just needed my help getting information to our listeners about the efforts and the list of supplies most needed in Missouri. The Hawkins' Racing trailer is set up in front of the Brookshire's grocery in Whitehouse through Saturday evening.

April 12, 2011 With the exception of perhaps a few counties along the Coastal Bend, all of Texas is suffering from a drought.
The lack of rain and recent windy conditions have caused the entire state to be put on wildfire alerts and over the past couple of days, over 300,000 acres of grassland in West Texas burned out of control.
Inasmuch that we have seen dry conditions across East and Northeast Texas, at least were not quite as parched as other parts of the state.
