Taylor Swift's Twitter and Instagram accounts have fallen victim to a hacker ring called the Lizard Squad.

The 'Blank Space' singer's followers received several unusual messages on Tuesday afternoon (Jan. 27), encouraging them to "go follow my boy @lizzard" and promising the singer would follow them back in return for following another account. One user captured a screenshot of the tweets:

The messages were deleted within 15 minutes, but not before receiving thousands of re-tweets and favorites. According to Time magazine, Swift has the fourth most popular account on Twitter with 51.4 million followers.

The singer stayed true to her recent smash hit, 'Shake it Off,' responding with good humor to the situation via Tumblr.

"My Twitter got hacked but don’t worry, Twitter is deleting the hacker tweets and locking my account until they can figure out how this happened and get me new passwords. Never a dull moment," she wrote, adding the hashtag, #hackersgonnahackhackhackhackhack.

Soon after, she took to Twitter using her fresh, new password to thank Paramore's Hayley Williams for alerting her to the break-in. Oh, and she reminded fans of one important fact:
