I’m wondering if this is supposed to be some sort of joke about the great state of Texas. As I was scrolling online, I stumbled upon an article discussing the worst states to visit according to Americans. One of my favorite things in life is to travel and explore. It is so much fun visiting new places and trying out new restaurants and food items. But I will admit I never expected to see the state of Texas on a list of the worst states to visit while traveling.

It would be so much fun to visit all 50 states so you could create your own list of the worst states to visit when traveling but that would be very time consuming and cost a lot. Which is why I was intrigued to see what the website Have Clothes Will Travel has to say about the worst states to visit.  

What Criteria Created the List of Worst States to Visit? 

From what I found online there was no specific criteria used when coming up with this list, it’s more of just the way Americans felt while visiting these states and not having a good experience. Most negative comments about these states were made on an online platform, and those details helped to form this list. Some of the negative comments included a lack of things to do, lack of cultural diversity, high cost of living, or just gives off a creepy vibe.

Here is a list of the states that seem to get the most complaints when it comes to Americans visiting and spending some time there. Although, I still don’t believe that Texas should be on this list.

According to U.S. News, these are the most dangerous places in the U.S. in 2023-2024. The stats are from the FBI's list of most dangerous cities. You'll notice there are two cities without stats. Not sure how U.S. News determined how they were one of the most dangerous cities in the U.S.
