WOW! When it comes to bringing family entertainment rich in tradition to East Texans, the folks that put on the "Tops in Texas" Rodeo wins the prize! They sure know what their doing, cause this years event is celebrating 51 years of top-notch rodeo action and family entertainment.

You and the family can expect first-rate cowboys and cowgirls as well as different specialty acts. You'll see all the best in rodeo action from, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, steer wrestling, calf roping, bareback riding, girl’s barrel racing, team roping to mutton busting.

But that's not all - other events during the week of the rodeo include a parade at 5:30 p.m. May 15; a kids day from 10 to 11:30 a.m. May 16 at Hazel Tilton Park; and the Junior Rodeo at 8 a.m. May 18 at the rodeo arena. May 16 is “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” night so wear your pink.

Oh, and we can't forget the concessions, the rodeo features delicious "carnival style" food along with vendors selling unique merchandise.

This PRCA rodeo is sponsored and staged by volunteers from the Jacksonville Riders Club and the Jacksonville Lions Club, with profits from the  event going to charities in the area.
