The talent that comes out of Texas is no surprise to us. But we know just how difficult it is to break that mold of a "Texas Country Artist" and break into mainstream country. More or less the mainstream music industry as well. Well, two artists from our own backyard have just proved just how talented they are by scoring nominations for the 2013 Grammy Awards.

While she is no stranger to the Grammy awards, Lindale native Miranda Lambert earned a nomination for Best Country Album with her "Four The Record" album. Last year Lambert not only performed at the Grammys, but took home the trophy for Best Country Female Vocal for her song "The House That Built Me". There is still a chance Lambert could take that category again, however those particular nominees have yet to be released. She takes on Hunter Hayes, Zac Brown Band, The Time Jumpers and Jamey Johnson for Best Country Album.

For Texas country fans, the most exciting news of the night came when it was announced that Denton based Eli Young Band scored not one, but two nominations last night. The up and coming group has had the biggest year of their career winning an ACM award for "Crazy Girl". And being nominated and performing every awards show this year. They just wrapped up a tour with Rascal Flatts and are set to open for Kenny Chesney in 2013. They received Grammy nods for their hit "Even If It Breaks Your Heart" for Best Country Duo/Group Performance and Best Country Song. They're up against the likes of Carrie Underwood and Eric Church for Best Country Song, while fighting Little Big Town for Group/Duo Performance.

Needless to say, we here at KNUE and Radio Texas Live! are so proud of these artists that we have watched grow into the stars they are. Congrats to the both of them for all of their hard work and success. We're rooting for you to bring home the gold! Everything is bigger in Texas, especially our talent.

Watch Miranda Lambert, the Eli Young Band, and more at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards on February 10 on CBS.
