Two time former heavyweight champion of the world George Foreman and Brad Maule, the famed Dr. Tony Jones on "General Hospital," will be speaking at the fundraiser for Shelby County Outreach Ministries tonight at the Center Civic Center.Executive director Pam White, of Shelby Country Outreach Ministries says the two East Texans are coming to speak for no other reason but to help the people of Shelby County.

Shelby County Outreach Ministries offers a host of services and help for Shelby County residents. People who need all kinds of help, including Ronald Preston, a victim of a house fire. The organization helped him with clothing, furniture, a place to stay and more.

The ministry is hoping with the help of businesses and private donations, that they can open a homeless shelter. White says that has been a vision of the ministry for years.

Here's what program director of Meals on Wheels and Helping Hands had to say about the fundraiser:

"If we want to go and continue to reach out like the homeless shelter we're going to need the support of all the people here in Shelby County every little way they can help."

The fundraiser is at the John D. Windham Civic Center, tonight at 7 p.m. Tickets are just $10 plus one non-perishable food item. You can also purchase your tickets today at Ace Hardware and the Unique Boutique in Center plus Baskin's in Nacogdoches and Lufkin.
