It's springtime in East Texas, and that means tons of local events to enjoy. I've put together a list of some of the family events that you guys might enjoy. From outdoor festivals to outdoor concerts, there's something for everyone.

"Picasso at the Lapin Agile" by Steve Martin - Jean Browne Theatre at TJC

"Picasso at the Lapin Agile"  is a play written by Steve Martin in 1993. It features the characters of Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso, who meet at a bar called the Lapin Agile (Nimble Rabbit) in Montmartre, Paris. It's set on October 8, 1904, and both men are on the verge of an amazing idea when they find themselves at the Lapin Agile, where they have a lengthy debate about the value of genius and talent while interacting with a host of other characters. Click here for more information.

Monster Truck Night of Fire and Thrills Spectacular - April 27th

Monster Truck fans, this show is a must see! The event is at the Longview Rodeo Arena. This year there are all new trucks, plus ‘Raging Inferno’ and the biggest purse for local Mud Boggers – Tuff Trucks – Quad Racers! Tickets at Baskins in Longview and on-line at Race Track Promotions.com

Rebels & Roses East Texas Music Festival - May 9th - 11th

Join KNUE and "Radio Texas Live" host Buddy Logan, for this years Rebels a & Roses music festival at Gator Run Offroad Park in Tatum. The lineup of entertainment is ridiculous! 21 acts will be playing over the Thursday - Saturday event, including, Roger Creager, Aaron Lewis, Whiskey Myers, Cody Johnson and more. There will also be a National BBQ Championship Qualifying cook - off on Saturday. RV's welcome or you can reserve a camping site. Get ready for great music, muddin' and BBQ. Get more info here.

Alley Fest in Longview - May 10 - 12th

Alley Fest is held every spring in Longviews' beautiful downtown area. The festival started back in 1979, as a way to display and promote local artists work, and it's still going strong! Alley Fest features art work from locals and surrounding areas, including artists from as far as the hill country. The fest now includes a Music Fest on Friday and Saturday, featuring some of the best in local and professional singers.
