Wife of Ex-Justice of the Peace Confesses to Kaufman County DA Slayings

Kaufman County/Mugshots.com

Authorities say the wife of a former judge has confessed to being involved in the shooting deaths of a North Texas district attorney, his wife and an assistant prosecutor.

Kim Lene Williams, 46, was arrested early Wednesday. Kaufman County Sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Justin Lewis says Williams is being charged in all three deaths. Lewis says she is being held on $10 million bond.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by WFAA.com Williams told investigators Tuesday that she was involved in the shootings of Kaufman County District Attorney Mike McLelland, his wife, Cynthia, and one of his prosecutors, Mark Hasse. According to the report, Mrs. Williams confessed that her husband, Eric Williams, was the one who pulled the trigger in all three shooting deaths.

From the affidavit:

“Kim Williams described in detail her role along that of her husband, Eric Williams whom she reported to have shot to death Mark Hasse on January 31, 2013 and Michael and Cynthia McLelland on March 30, 2013.”

The McLellands were found dead March 30, two months after Hasse was slain.

Another press conference is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
