Lufkin’s Thundering 13 have got themselves a new Underdog supporter. This morning Texas' own, and well known baseball lover, Aaron Watson was showing love for the East Texas Little League All Star.

The boys, in Williamsport for The Little League World Series, won 5-1 in last Thursday’s opening round. Next they took on the New England Region Sunday morning (August 20).

In that game Lufkin took a 1-0 lead in the first on a wild pitch. New England came back in the second inning, scoring three runs.

But The Thundering 13 weren't finished, tying the game at 3 with a two-run home run from Christian Mumphery in the bottom of the second.

Lufkin scored two more runs in the fourth inning with an RBI single from Malcolm Deason and Chandler Spencer coming home on a wild pitch to make it 5-3.

Christian Mumphery hit his second home run in the fifth to add one more run to their 6-3 victory.

Collin Ross pitched a complete game allowing four hits, one earned run with eight strikeouts. You can watch the highlight video at the Little League World Series website here.

The Thundering 13 continue their World Series run tonight (Aug. 23) against North Carolina at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN.

Watson's current single "Outta Style" is his highest charting single to date peaking inside the Top 30 earlier this summer.
