Actor Nicolas Cage arrested in New Orleans
April 17, 2011 4:19 PM USA Today reports actor Nicolas Cage was arrested after he got drunk in the city’s French Quarter and argued in the street with his wife over whether a house they were in front of was theirs, police said Saturday. More after the jump.
The actor has been booked on charges of domestic abuse battery, disturbing the peace and public drunkenness. He remained in the Orleans Parish Prison on Saturday afternoon. Cage was released on $11,000 bond Saturday.
Representatives for Cage could not immediately be reached Saturday.
When police encouraged him to call it a night, Cage once again dared police to arrest him — and he was taken into custody. His wife, Alice, will not press charges, and says there was no physical contact, according to Hollywood Reporter.com.
