Wednesday, February 22, the East Texas Food Bank, along with Brookshires, began building what looks to be a world record for the largest canned food pyramid.

Brookshires donated 36,000 cans of food for the pyramid. The base of pyramid is about 300 square feet with a height of about twelve feet. Sometime next week, the pyramid will be disassembled and all of the canned food will be given to families in need.

One stat that was given at the completion ceremony was the 36,000 cans of food will feed 30,000 families.

Guinness World Records still needs to verify everything but it looks like the world record will belong to East Texas.

Watch the video below of the completion ceremony and pictures from Thursday and Friday of our visit to the build.
