Wade Bowen Raises $150K for Texas Advocacy Center During Annual Concert and Golf Benefit

Wade Bowen, who will be in concert Wednesday night at Electric Cowboy, and his heart of gold was in full force earlier this month when he held his 14th Annual Wade Bowen Classic concert and golf tournament in his hometown of Waco. The event, which benefits the Advocacy Center for Crime Victims and Children, raised $150,000 over the course of a weekend.

Texting While Walking Ban — Violators Get Fined $85 [VIDEO/POLL]

Laws against texting or talking on a cell phone while driving are common. In Tyler, we have laws against using cell phones school zones. But one town is taking it one step further: banning texting while walking. And if you violate the law, you could be fined $85.

Swamp People’s Mitchell Guist Dies in Monday Morning Accident

A sad day for the History Channel's 'Swamp People' cast, crew, family and fans. WAFB in Baton Rouge, La., reports that Mitchell Guist was pronounced dead Monday morning at Teche Regional Hospital in Morgan City.

UT Tyler Patriot Million Dollar Hole-In-One Contest Kicks Off

Over the past 25 years the annual Hole In One competition has raised more than a million dollars for endowed scholarship programs at UT Tyler. Students have benefited directly from the competition that could be giving away $1 million itself on Sunday, May 20, at Hollytree Country Club! Qualifying began Saturday at the UT Tyler Herrington Patriot Center and continues through 11 p.m. Friday.
