This Saturday it’s the Best of Radio Texas, LIVE! 2012
Nearly two years in and we ain’t slowing down. What a year 2012 was here at Radio Texas, LIVE! We started it playing Texas Music on our hometown station KNUE in Tyler/Longview. We ended it playing the same Texas Music in 12 markets including KXKS in Shreveport, LA and KLAW in Lawton, Okla.
For everyone without a calculator handy, that means we’re spinning Texas and Red Dirt in three states now. And on a bunch of stations that have never so much as touched it before. Exposing this music to a whole new audience has just been a complete privilege. It’s awesome.
For this week’s show (12/29) we’ll do what most radio shows tend to do at the end of the year, and take a look back. You’ll hear some of your favorite “Five Question” segments from guys like Kevin Fowler, Aaron Watson and Cody Johnson from 2012.
We’ll revisit some of our most memorable live performances from Kyle Park, The Damn Quails and William Clark Green.
And of course we’ll play back some of yours and our favorite interviews from the past 12 months. We’ll hear from Stoney LaRue, Kacey Musgraves, JB and the Moonshine Band, Cody Canada and the Departed, Casey Donahew and more.
But probably my favorite part will be taking a look back at some new faces we were introduced to in 2012 including: The Damn Quails, The Cadillac Black, and everybody’s favorite country boy, Earl Dibbles Jr.
Whether you heard every show this year, or not one of ’em, be sure to listen in this Saturday. You’ll catch up quick. Here’s to 2013.
Happy New Year!
