This week's Challenge features new music from a legendary Red Dirt band and one of the brightest young bands in Texas, as Jason Boland's "Obsessed" goes up against Texas Southern Rockers Whiskey Myers' power-ballad "Virginia." This won't be easy but your job is still the same, listen to both new songs then vote for your favorite.

It's been a busy twelve months for Whiskey Myers. They shot and released videos for "Ballad of a Southern Man" and “Anna Marie,” went on a European tour, and in August scored their first No. 1 single courtesy of “Anna Marie.” And I still maintain their 2011 album “Firewater” is a must-have. The latest off that album "Virginia" is one of our challengers this week, give it a listen.

And in this corner, pioneers of the Red Dirt Scene, and easily one of the best bands to ever come out of The Sooner State, Jason Boland and the Stragglers. Boland and his band have built a long and hardy career based around real country music, outstanding lyrics and melodies. Their latest album "Rancho Alto" has spawned three singles to date, all three reaching No. 1. And today the fourth release "Obsessed" is our second challenger, check it out.
