Spring severe weather season is upon us and this afternoon East Texas could be looking at a line of severe thunderstorms that'll move through bringing with it high winds, large hail and the possibility of tornadoes.

KLTV 7 Meteorologists Cedric Haynes and Mark Scirto along with the StormTracker 7 Weather team will be tracking the storms if and when they develop. The reason for the chance of the severe weather is the combination of heat (nearing 82 this afternoon), humidity and instability causing widespread showers and thunderstorms.

The main threat we'll see from this is will be high winds and large hail, similar to what we experienced last Friday, but this time a threat for isolated tornadoes has been added.

If severe weather does break out, we'll bring you the latest and keep you up to date along with the StormTracker 7 weather center.
