It was a big summer for East Texas Southern Rockers Whiskey Myers. They shot and released a video for their most recent single "Anna Marie," went on a European tour, then watched "Anna Marie" become their highest charting single reaching No. 3 on the Texas Regional Radio Report and No. 1 on The Texas Music Chart.

Last week Jon Wolfe stopped by Radio Texas, LIVE! and the first thing we discussed was The RTX New Music Challenge. A couple week's ago Jon's new single went up against Adam Hood's latest "Hard Times in the Land of Plenty." Jon's fan rallied around him and voted him to a decisive victory. We talked about that and played his winning song.
Wow. These New Music Challenges certainly aren't getting any easier. The two songs I've chosen this week couldn't be more different, in fact the only thing they may have in common is their fairly lengthy titles. Well, that and the singers of both are two of the best at what they do. This week Jon Wolfe's "It All Happened in a Honky Tonk" goes head to head with Adam Hood's "Hard Times in the Land of Plenty."
