East Texas has been so generous in the past raising money for St Jude Children's Research Hospital. In the years KNUE has been a part of the Country Cares Radiothon, we have collectively raised more $2.5 million here locally for such a great cause!
The KNUE St. Jude "Country Cares" Radiothon is up and going and for the next two days, and KNUE will be sharing the stories of families and their children who have been touched by St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Since 1996, KNUE has been involved with St. Jude 'Country Cares,' a radiothon that involves country radio stations across the United States. The "Country Cares' radiothon was started with Randy Owen from the group Alabama in the late '80's and is the most successful radio fundraiser in America.
Over the years, many people in the public eye—including actors, NASCAR drivers, musicians, political leaders, supermodels and more—have gotten involved with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has been helping kids fight cancer since 1962, all thanks to contributions that let families get treated for free.
KNUE gives a huge shout-out to awesome East Texan Tina Christian for agreeing to put together a benefit for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Tina took off with the idea and ran with it. This event has been a full-time job for Tina, a mother of two, but she told me she loves it.
