Sunday, Nov. 11 is Veterans Day, a day we all honor our Veterans for all they have done and sacrificed for our country and for our families. Veterans are the brave men and women who chose to dedicate their lives for our freedom, and KNUE thanks you for your service.
As Veterans Day approaches, we will all have those that are serving or have served our country on our minds. This Sunday, Nov. 11, will be a day of not just remembrance. This day will be our chance to give our thanks to those who have protected us.
Tim McGraw surprised 30 soldiers and their families during a Veteran's Day appreciation luncheon at Outback Steakhouse in Brentwood, Tenn. on Thursday. The singer gave out handshakes, words of encouragement and thank yous to the men and women for their service.
For the past 30 years Longview ISD has honored veterans and active military members with a special ceremony and the tradition will continue Saturday evening with a special event at Lobo Stadium. The event will feature marching band along with a fireworks show.
This Friday, November, 9 is the first Veteran's Day celebration at Tyler's Texas State Veterans Home. The event is expected to draw hundreds to celebrate service to our nation.
Veterans Day falls on Sunday, November 11 this year. While we should be honoring military and veterans all year round, this is a special day set aside to remember those who have fought for our freedom. What they do is not an easy job, and in reality there is truly know 'thank-you' big enough. But on Veterans Day some businesses offer special discounts and have their own way of saying thank you. To serve one’s country is one of the highest of callings. No matter if a service member is in harm’s way or not, the decision to step forward and take an oath to protect us is an act of bravery. Honor them for it, and pray that people are always willing to heed that call. Keep the faith brothers and sisters in arms. Veterans Day is Friday, November 11, and in honor of those who have fought for our freedoms, Workforce Solutions of East Texas in Tyler, is holding a job fair for Veterans on November, 9.
A recent survey conducted by Military Times Edge ranks which colleges are best for military veterans.
Most of the schools making the list were public, including 51 of the 59 highest ranking four-year schools. The top five four-year schools included Concord University, taking the number one spot, Eastern Kentucky University at number two, Rutgers in third, California University of Pennsylvania at number four and University of South Florida coming in fifth.
