The RTX New Music Challenge: Bri Bagwell vs. Kristen Kelly [AUDIO/POLL]

Facebook

Alrighty, by now we all know how this works. Each week we pit two brand new Texas songs against each other and let ‘em duke it out for your affection. Some times the songs have a common theme, often times they don’t. This week they do. It’s the first All Girl RTX New Music Challenge, as Bri Bagwell goes up against Kristen Kelly.

First up Bri Bagwell. Hailing from New Mexico Bri got her start in the Texas Music scene while attending University of Texas in Austin. She made a splash last year on CMT’s Next Superstar and hasn’t slowed down, releasing her debut album “Banned From Santa Fe” in 2011. The second single off that album is looking for your love this week as Challenger No. 1, give “Whiskey” a listen.

Challenger No. 2 comes in the form of Kristen Kelly. Kelly calls Waco home, which is where she also attended McLennan Community College, before ultimately hearing the call of the road. In 2004 she co-wrote “Down in Flames” with Brandon Jenkins and Stoney LaRue. And it has been officially announced that she will be going on tour with Country Music superstar Brad Paisley. Now check out her brand new single “Ex Old-Man.”
