I wonder if folks thought it was crazy when people first started making clothes out of cotton. Well, it seems our friends from Down Under have stumbled upon a new, Eco-friendly, not to mention wine-spill-proof clothing material.

Through a "biological fermentation process" researchers at The University of Western Australia have developed a new material using living microbes -- they're making clothes out of wine. The problems the researchers now face: Over time, the fabric does ferment, and you can't wear it in the rain, due to it's ‘sludge-like’ feel when wet. It looks like a fruit roll-up and it apparently reeks of alcohol.
