No, this isn't an episode of 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' that was left on the cutting room floor. It's actually a father receiving the best gift of his life -- tickets to a championship football game. With the holiday season winding down its nice to remember the little things in life: family, sports, and the fact that fedoras only look appealing on certain people.
Well, Christmas has come and gone. All of the egg nog is gone, the Christmas dinner is just left overs, and all of the presents are unwrapped. So, how did it go for you? Did you get everything that you wanted?
For some reason Christmas seems to bring out the good, but at times, the bad in folks. I haven't quite figured out why some folks are scrooges around the holidays. But I like to think about those folks who embrace the Christmas spirit and show love - the so-called Good Samaritans. Here's a couple of those good Samaritan stories I thought you might enjoy!
Christmas is something Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton look forward to -- and not just because everyone and their mother happily anticipates the holidays in light of cookies and eggnog, or that you get to tear open expertly wrapped gifts. The couple is so busy with their respective burgeoning careers that they view the holiday season as time to slow down and reconnect with one another. As it turns out, Shelton is also a big decorator. Who knew?
Blake Shelton isn't the kind of guy who goes to the mall to buy his wife a few sweaters for Christmas. Instead, the popular country crooner tuned in to his creative energies to design a piece of jewelry that will appeal to Miranda Lambert's animal-loving side.
For most young children, there is nothing more euphoric than Christmas morning. Waking up early is a requirement. Flying down the steps to tear open presents is also a given. Country superstar Keith Urban was no different than your average, Christmas-loving kid while growing up in Australia. The singer revealed how he spent Christmas mornings and how he was the personal alarm clock of Mom and Dad Urban!
If you tried to describe the violent holiday classic ‘Home Alone’ to someone who had never seen it, they might wonder why it’s considered a “must watch” at Christmas time. Watching the precocious, sadistic Kevin McAllister (played by Macaulay Culkin) find new and unique ways to commit assault and battery against two hapless burglars doesn’t sound like something that would teach an impressionable child about why the holidays are important.
Everyone knows Christmas Day is all about tearing open presents, spending time with loved ones, gorging on lots of good food and celebrating the holiday spirit in general. Even though most of us have got the holiday thing down by now, some folks out there might not be aware of some of the unusual and history-making events marking Christmas Day and Christmas Eve in the past.
