KNUE Throwback Video of the Week: Kenny Rogers ‘She Believes in Me’
March 29, 2012 9:30 AM I’ll never forget when I met the sexy, raspy voiced country superstar Kenny Rogers. I was working at KNUE and Kenny was set to perform at The Oil Palace in Tyler. This was the country singer I had played on the radio for years, and I was finally gonna meet him. On top of that great news, the opening act was the group Restless Heart! To say the least, I was ecstatic!
I really love the hits from the 1970′s, ’80s and ’90s, and that’s why I was so thrilled when we put the KNUE Gold Rush show back on the air. And we talked John Moore into hosting again.
My all-time favorite Kenny song is his number one hit from 1979, “She believes in me.” Gives me chills when I hear it, and when he speaks in the song “God her love is true” — I get teary eyed even now!
