When "Squelch," the next project from Jason Boland and the Stragglers, releases on Oct. 9, it'll be the eighth studio album from the legendary Red Dirt band in just under 16 years (in addition to two live albums).
It has been several weeks since this year's Memorial Day Weekend floods ravaged the small town of Wimberley, Texas, but the Texas/Red Dirt music scene hasn't forgotten about those Central Texas families who are still trying to rebuild their community.

Due to health issues, Jason Boland's brother-in-law, Charles Whited, is going through a difficult time. To help out his brother, Boland, has teamed up with a few friends to raise money by selling a special guitar, "The Fish Guitar."

He along with stalwarts named Pat, Charlie, Ragweed, Cory and Robert Earl really made it easy for me, a transplanted Texan, to fall in love with this music.
