Josh Abbott who will be headlining Festival On The Square on Saturday October 8 (read about that here) teamed up with Texas singer/songwriter and coincidentally one of my Top 5 favorite singers of all time Pat Green on his latest hit "My Texas" the song is poised to become Abbott's next number 1 in Texas and now the Lubbock native is slanging the tune for just 69 cents on iTunes, so if you've yet to download it now's the time.
Pat's one of the best there's ever been, despite what some may call a hiccup -of which I am not one. I mean who doesn't want to be bigger and better especially when given the opportunity, that's what makes the great ones great, that and hard work. Like I always say if I was stuck on an island and could only have three albums with me, 2 would be Pat Green albums.
It's no secret Pat Green is easily one of my top 5 singers of all time --any genre. And Josh Abbott is currently one of the biggest names in Texas and soon enough will more than likely take over the rest of the country. His 2010 album 'She's Like Texas' was arguably the most popular album of the past 18 months in Texas featuring the colossal hits 'Road Trippin', 'All Of A Sudden', 'She's Like Texas', and 'Oh Tonight'. Not to mention he nearly had a clean sweep at The Texas Regional Radio Music Awards in March taking home hardware for Song of the Year, Single of the Year, Album of the Year and Video of the Year.
Country music star Pat Green will headline this year's event in June. Popular Texas singer Wade Bowen will open for Green, announced the Gala Co-Chairs, Liz Ballard and Ginger Haberle. "It's pretty awesome that we'll have a pair of entertainers on stage", Mrs. Ballard said. "I think they're going to bring something fresh, a new feel, and I think people of all ages will appreciate their music." Added Mrs. Haberle, “Their music creates the laid back mood we want to have for this year’s Cattle Barons’ Gala. They truly represent Texas-Cool!” The 2011 Tyler Cattle Baron's Gala will be held Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the Graham Farm in Bullard.
I'll be 30 this year and I am not ashamed to say an inordinate portion of my 20's were spent listening to Pat Green's music. In fact if you told me I was going to be stranded on a desert island and could only take five albums with me, then asked me which five albums will it be.
