Wow, 2011's been a big year in Texas and Red Dirt Music -- we started out the year with quite a few late night TV appearances (which continued throughout the year) Granger Smith was literally "Sleeping on The Interstate" there were multiple Live at Billy Bob's recordings, Pat Green's back -- if you hadn't heard, Josh Abbott and Brandon Rhyder teamed up to to help out with Texas wildfires

So back in August Granger Smith stopped by Radio Texas Live and we had the official radio debut of his new single 'Im Wearing Black' --back when 'Sleeping on The Interstate' was in the Top 10 and still climbing up the chart.

Last week we were lucky enough to get Granger Smith to stop in --TWICE! Once during the afternoon show on Wednesday and then he was back  Saturday night for Radio Texas Live.  On Wednesday I had a surprise for him, one of his biggest fans out in California -Arnold Schwarzenegger on the phone!.. Yesterday Granger Smith stopped by the afternoon show, before his concert at Electric Cowboy and I surprised him when we had one of his biggest fans from California on the phone waiting to talk to him.  Yep, former body builder, actor, husband and Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger loves him some Granger Smith.  Check out our convo with the govern-ator, it's after the jump.

Granger Smith who is one of the funnest and funniest (just check out his youtube channel) performers in the Texas Music scene will be back in Tyler tonight, live tonight at Electric Cowboy.  You can buy tickets now at outhousetickets.com. A couple weeks ago Granger Smith teamed with The Boot Campaign and walked 100 miles in combat boots from S. Austin to Fort Hood to raise awareness for our military men and women and promote his new single 'Sleeping On The Interstate. His team recently released this video, check it out after the jump

Texas singer/songwriter Granger Smith started out on an amazing and ambitious journey this past Sunday, to walk 100 miles from S. Austin to Fort Hood.  And it will culminate this afternoon with an acoustic show at Fort Hood for soldiers and their families.
