Last Monday on America’s Got Talent, Timothy Poe captured the hearts of many Americans with his stunning performance on the reality competition show by singing perfectly after disclosing he suffers from a brain injury that he received while in combat in Afghanistan.

His story has come under fire and now he is now apologizing and saying, he doesn’t “know right now what’s reality and what’s not reality.”

Poe’s story began  to unravel after the show aired because those who served with him started talking and discrepancies were popping up. The National Guard has said they have no record of him being injured in Afghanistan and no record of being deployed to Iraq.

In an exclusive interview with WFAA-TV in Dallas, Poe breaks down in tears during the interview, saying:

I mean, as far as everything I said, I believe it wholeheartedly myself. But I feel like I’m going crazy.”

He sobs through most of the interview, which makes it a little uncomfortable to watch, but goes on to say,

I don’t feel like I’ve lied. That’s what’s driving me crazy … because I truly thought things have happened to me.”

The charity that helps wounded soldiers, Defenders Of Freedom, has helped Poe financially in the past and the founder of the organization, Donna Cranston, said, “I believe he’s a liar.”

Now, TMZ reports that producers with America’s Got Talent will be editing his appearance a little when he returns to perform in the Las Vegas round.

If this is all true and Poe indeed has suffered from a brain injury and his memory is all scrambled, it truly is a tragedy. What he thinks his reality is, really isn’t. It’s truly sad, either way it comes out.
