Don't miss the biggest show this year when KNUE brings three country legends to Tyler, Mel Tillis, Earl Thomas Conley and Johnny Lee! There are 29 No. 1 hits between the three and 18 of those hits are from the legendary Earl Thomas Conley.

Earl Thomas Conley is one of the first artists I gravitated to when I started playing country music on the radio. I had been in other formats -- Easy Listening, Top 40 and Rock. There was something about country music I instantly noticed -- it was personal and the lyrics told great stories.

Earl Thomas Conley songs  take me back to the time I started dating my husband and riding in his truck out to the lake! We would sing along to "Angel in Disguise," Once In A Blue Moon,"  "That Was A Close One," and "What I'd Say."

OK, here I go. It seems corny, but those really were simpler times. To be in my 20s again!

I found a few ETC fans on YouTube and thought I would highlight some of their covers of Earl Thomas Conley for your enjoyment (good and bad!).

"Holding Her and Loving You"

This guy is really choked up!

"Holding Her and Loving You"

This kid has it!

"What I'd Say"

Mmm, what do you think? "A little pitchy Simon!"

"That Was A Close One"

Love the hat!

The show is Saturday, Aug. 18 at The Oil Palace in Tyler. Tickets are on sale now at OilPalace.com or the box office at 903-581-2122.
