Is Chili’s Closing Its Texas Locations? Here’s What We Know
Yes, the closure of the Texas-based Chili's chain is one of the major food-related news. What about its native state of Texas? We've already seen some locations close down in Missouri, and there were concerns that it would close in Oklahoma as well. Are retail locations in Texas closing? Well, there are good and bad news about that.
There HAVE been a few shuttered Texas Chili's restaurants. To the dismay of the locals, the Port Arthur, Texas location has met its fate and shuttered its doors on April 9th of this year. The address of the Chili's was 8665 Memorial Blvd.
However, there have been a number of Chili's sites close in the past, including those in Abilene, Hickory Creek, and North Texas. However, those were all years ago; thus far, at least one in 2024 has made headlines.
However, Texas-based Chili's aficionados have some good news.
On its website, Chili's claims to have (literally) over a hundred active locations throughout Texas. I can personally speak to this since I live close by: they are still open and extremely busy, especially on the weekends. We still have access to Chili's as of right now because there are five restaurants in El Paso alone.
Of course, there's always the worry that additional eateries will abruptly close, as was the case in Port Arthur in April. Although there hasn't been any news as of yet regarding the closure of other Chili's locations in Texas, we'll just have to wait and see what the restaurant chain decides to do moving forward.
