RTX New Music Challenge: Cody Johnson Vs.The Damn Quails [AUDIO/POLL]

This week Texan Cody Johnson goes head to head with Oklahomans The Damn Quails in what may wind up being the toughest RTX New Music Challenge to date -- may the best band win.

First up Cody Johnson Band's "Guilty as Can Be." He actually told us about the song last time he stopped by so I don't see any point in typing the story, not when he can just tell us about it. Press play.

And in this corner -- tutored in Red Dirt by the godfather of the Red Dirt, Mike McClure, it's The Damn Quails. Their previous single "Fools Gold" was, for lack of a better word, gold on the Texas charts. It peaked at No. 2 and is still hanging in there after thirty-two weeks on the Texas Regional Radio Report. And with their new single "So So Long," they should expect no less, give it a listen.
