‘The Simpsons’ Might Get Its Own Channel
‘The Simpsons’ is the longest running prime time scripted series in American television history and now News Corp., which owns the franchise, may be looking to capitalize on 22 seasons of the Emmy-winning cartoon with a channel dedicated exclusively to life in Springfield.
According to the Los Angeles Times, News Corp. executives had multiple meetings about how best to profit from their massive ‘Simpsons’ library, and the idea of an all-’Simpsons’ channel has been discussed, although no plans have been finalized.
Regardless of the decision, ‘The Simpsons’ embarked on its 23rd season, which premiered September 25 with no signs of stopping. Watch the preview of what happened Sunday.
