Authorities are attempting to identify if a meteor streaked across Texas skies and then slammed into northwest Louisiana late Monday night.

According to the Houston Chronicle, A fireball was reportedly spotted in the skies near Killeen and Temple, and about 11:30 p.m. a loud, earth-shaking boom was heard and felt in Webster Parish, La., officials said.

Officials with the Webster Parish Sheriff's Office said they are uncertain what the boom and shaking might have been, but they have not found evidence of an explosion.
