The first 70 of the 2016 Americana Music Festival's 180 acts have been revealed. The Americana Music Association announced almost half of this year's performers on Friday (May 6).

Among AmericanaFest's performers for 2016 are Amy Helm, Front Country, the Infamous Stringdusters, John Paul White, Lee Ann Womack, Ryan Beaver, Sunny Sweeney, the Black Lillies, Will Hoge, Wynonna & the Big Noise and many, many more. The complete, extensive list of currently announced acts is available on the Americana Music Association's website.

“So much about this event is about discovery,” Americana Music Association Executive Director Jed Hilly says. “But when you have more than 175 bands in town, you can go into any club any night of the week and see something that’ll knock your socks off, even if you aren’t familiar with the band on stage.”

The 2016 Americana Music Festival & Conference is scheduled for Sept. 20-25 in Nashville. Registration for the event is currently open, and wristbands for evening showcases are now available.

“Someone told me they appreciated what we do because we put unknown artists before people with the same energy as we do our biggest stars,” Hilly says. “I think there is a sense within the community that it’s about mastering a craft. It’s about musicianship and great songwriting … There’s a uniqueness to the artists, and I think the organization supports that. We’re not corporate-dominated. That’s pretty apparent. We curate our festival and conference lineup. It’s not label showcases.”

More information about both options is available on the Americana Music Association's website as well.
