East Texans Competing at Boston Marathon Reported Safe

As many as 12 runners from the East Texas area were in Boston today to compete in the Boston Marathon. There have been no indications of any injuries to those from the area.

Twelve runners from Tyler, Longview and Marshall are listed to have competed in the marathon. Many of those in attendance confirmed with local TV station KLTV they were safe and uninjured.

One of those runners was Harold Wilson, who has won the 70 and older division of the marathon multiple times. The 80-year-old Wilson is one of the oldest to participate in the marathon each year.
