END OF AN ERA: Toys ‘R’ Us Fades Into History On Friday
Oh, this image breaks my heart. My kids loved Toys 'R' Us growing up and now that tomorrow is the last day, the idea that I won't be able to experience the same joy with my grandchildren is sad.
Lucky Larry stopped by the Tyler store a few weeks ago to reminiscence and took some photos of the barren shelves. Even then, the reality was setting in.
While I never waited in the insane Black Friday sales lines, I did make it a tradition to take my girls there every year to pick out their own birthday and Christmas gifts. It was so much easier than trying to guess!
When I was growing up, I loved to look at the huge gift catalog that would come every year and dream about what I'd do if my parents bought what I wanted for Christmas.
Goodbye Geoffrey, enjoy your retirement and thanks for all the great memories!
