Comedian Jerry Lewis was rushed to a New York hospital Tuesday night after collapsing due to low blood sugar, according a New York Post report.

The 86-year-old Lewis was scheduled to receive an award at the Friars Club Tuesday night and present the top honor to Tom Cruise.

Reports indicate Lewis collapsed at the Waldorf Astoria, site of the Friars Club gala.

Cruise was presented with the prestigious award by his “Jerry Maguire” co-star, Cuba Gooding Jr., and NBC’s Matt Lauer.

“I am sorry Jerry couldn’t be here tonight,” Cruise said during his acceptance speech, “but I know he is going to be fine.”

Reps for Lewis could not be reached for comment.
