I could not believe that after all these years, I finally got to see one of my all-time favorite artists, Elton John. I've loved Elton since I was old enough to know who he was. In fact, my first 45 record I ever bought, was Elton's "Bennie and The Jets"!  Elton performed this past Saturday at the CenturyLink Center in Bossier City, LA. I was not going to be this close and miss it! Over the years, I've had tickets on several occasions to see this icon, but something always got in the way. Hey, if you ever have a chance to see this extraordinary and talented man, drop whatever you're doing and go see the show! I believe every age bracket was represented at the show. From 10 - 80 years old!

At 67 years old, Elton still has it. Playing non-stop for a solid three hours and singing all his hits, which are  numerous. I have to say that Sir Elton did not disappoint. Kicking off the show with "Funeral For a Friend", and ending it with  "Crocodile Rock". (The song I roller skated to when I was in middle school). Awesome.

Today is Elton's 67th birthday, and to celebrate, he has remastered "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road", which is regarded as one of Elton John’s most significant albums of his career, and released it in a deluxe two-disc set. So run, don't walk to the nearest store and grab your copy!

The new discs will also tracks from big name artists like;  Ed Sheeran, Miguel, the Band Perry, Fall Out Boy and more.

It's such a great experience to go to a show where a legend like Elton is performing. You know every song, and it takes you back to where you were when you first heard that song.   It was a night where I just relaxed and thought of nothing but the wonderful songs of Elton John.

Thank you Elton for a memory that I will cherish for the rest of my life!

It's really hard to pick a "favorite" Elton John song, cause they are all so different and equally awesome. But I will say, at the show when he sang ,"Someone Saved My Life Tonight", I felt he was singing only to me!

What are your favorite Elton songs?
