No Dam Fireworks Show at Lake Tyler This Year

Independence Day is almost upon us, and I'm sure you're already making plans for where to spend the evening enjoying fireworks in East Texas.

This year it won't be Lake Tyler.

Earlier today, June 21, Lake Tyler Marina Resort shared this message on their facebook page:

"Just a reminder there will be no firework show on the dam this Fourth of July. The firework show is put on independently by East Texas Pyro based on donations only and since there has been a lack of funding they have decided not to do it this year. We are very sad but totally understand."

Many residents of Lake Tyler will miss the show this year, but as it was independently operated based on donations, this year's lack of funding will cause the show not to go on in 2019.

An alternative to explore would be the City of Tyler's annual firework show which will take place at Lindsay Park, with activities beginning at 4 p.m.
