Retired Tyler Dentist Arrested for Murder

75-year-old Dr. Bobby Nichols of Tyler is jailed in connection with the shooting death of his wife, 71-year-old Rosiland Nichols who was found dead in the couple’ home Friday night.

Tyler police received a 911 call around 9:40 pm from a caller who identified himself as Dr. Bobby Nichols who stated that someone had been shot at his home located at 3417 Allen Drive.

Once on the scene, police found Mrs. Nichols dead of an apparent gunshot wound.

Investigators have determined that around 5:00 p.m. on June 29, 2012 Dr. Bobby Nichols arrived at his home .

After a short while he and his wife got into an argument.  Sometime later Dr. Bobby Nichols went out to his vehicle to get his gun and went back into the residence.  The couple continued arguing and Dr. Nichols then shot his wife twice.  She died of her injuries.

Dr. Nichols has been arrested on the charge of Murder.  Bond has been set at $750,000.00.
