There aren't too many acts in Texas that can say they put on a show as good as The Dirty River Boys.

The El Paso natives are legends in the scene when it comes to going all out at each and every concert. They're loud, rambunctious and you'll even see them trade instruments mid-song.

Well, Tyler, you've got your chance to see it for yourself this Friday night (Oct. 24).

The Dirty River Boys are going to grace the stage at the always-intimate Stanley's Famous Pit BBQ in Tyler (525 S. Beckham Avenue). Tyler's favorite mom and pop joint is hosting the foursome for the second time, but this week's crowd is going to get to experience some new stuff from DRB.

Already known for hits such as 'Raise Some Hell,' 'Desert Wind' and 'Boomtown,' The Dirty River Boys are going to bring those plus an entirely new album to the stage. They're less than two weeks removed from the release of their self-titled album, which boasts 13 songs that reaches completely different stratospheres of music.

It starts with a heavy rock sound with 'Down By The River' (my favorite song on the record, co-written with Ray Wylie Hubbard), takes a piece of folk with their first single 'Thought I'd Let You Know' and even reaches into the Celtic realm with 'Sailed Away.' 'Simplified' is a solid ballad that might be the most vocally strong track on the album.

“We wanted to cross genres as much as possible,” singer and guitarist Marco Gutierrez told The Wall Street Journal. “We try not to box ourselves in. We kind of let whatever happens happen with the instrumentation that we have.”

Catch The Dirty River Boys on stage at 10:30 p.m. Friday at Stanley's in Tyler. The opening band goes on at 8:30 p.m. Cover is $10 at the door, and once it's full, you're out of luck. So, get there early.

You might just see your new favorite band.
