East Texas Woman Attempts to Shoot and Stab Van Zandt County Man

Sheriff Deputies says Nancy Khabazian, 55, of Fruitvale pointed the gun at the man while he was making coffee inside the couple’s house but when the gun jammed she grabbed a kitchen knife in an attempt to stab him. The man fled out a bedroom window and called 911.

The deputies arrived at the house on CR 1930 where they attempted to make contact with Khabazian for several hours. Deputies then administered CS gas into the residence, at which time Khabazian exited the residence where she surrendered without incident.

Khabazian was then transported to the Van Zandt County Justice Center where she is being held on a $50,000 bond for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon/Family Violence.
