The Rusk County Sheriff’s Office is asking for information in the identification of suspects involved in the burglary of a building that occurred on County Road 297.

On July 14, 2012, suspects entered the property of a construction site and took a Multiquip generator, Hollman floor extractor, EB floor sander, Alto power saw, Lasco box fan, Coleman lantern, Dewalt circular saw, Dewalt sawzall, and a Sonic stapler from the property.

Woman Robbed at her Tyler Apartment

The robbery took place early this morning at the Kensington Place Apartments located on 4400 Paluxy Dr.

The victim told police that she was asleep in her apartment when she heard several knocks at her front door. She said someone outside was repeatedly asking for help in a female voice. The victim opened the door to look outside and three black male suspects, armed with a black handgun then forced their way into the apartment.  The suspects then forced the victim into a bathroom and stole electronics from the apartment.

The victim described the suspects as black males 25-30 years of age. First suspect was wearing a white “wife beater” shirt and black shorts with a baby blue bandana over his face. Second suspect was wearing a white shirt, black shorts and an orange bandana over his face. The suspect was also wearing orange tennis shoes with white laces.  The victim was unable to give a description of the third suspect’s clothing.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Tyler Police Department at 903-531-1000. Police says the victim had driven to another location and called police following the robbery.

 

Stolen Mail in Rusk County

The U.S. Postal Service and the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office are asking residents to use caution when sending out mail from rural mailboxes.

Recently there has been several mail thefts reported in Rusk County.

Although two suspects have been arrested the thefts have continued. The suspects are watching for raised red flags on mailboxes and then taking the mail.  Some items the suspects are targeting are outgoing checks, credit card information and other personal information.  Identity theft and forgery are some crimes being committed.

When sending payments by mail, citizens may want to contact the person or company to ensure payments were received, and may consider taking outgoing mail directly to the post office.
