A huge congratulations to Kacey Musgraves -- she's been crowned the 2019 CMA Awards Female Vocalist of the Year! Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Maren Morris and Kelsea Ballerini were all also in the running for the trophy.

Four former winners of CMA Award for Female Vocalist -- Janie Frickie, Pam Tillis, Kathy Mattea and Martina McBride -- presented the award to Musgraves.

"Words can't express just how meaningful and truly unbelievable this past couple of years have been," Musgraves began, "but ultimately, I just want to say that I feel that the female creative spirit, the female creative energy is really needed right now. It's really important, and I feel like it's something that Earth needs, whether it's me up here or any of the other women in this category ... thank you so much. I love country music," she concluded.

Musgraves brings home the Female Vocalist of the Year trophy after a banner year that kicked off with a Grammy Awards sweep back in January. During that event, she won trophies in all four the categories in which she was nominated, including Best Country Album and Album of the Year (both for her 2018 project, Golden Hour).

Golden Hour came out in March of 2018, and won Album of the Year at both the 2018 CMA Awards and 2019 ACM Awards. Since then, the singer has kept busy with her lengthy Oh, What a World and Oh, What a World II treks.
