John Anderson is probably best known for his hits, 'Swingin,' 'I'm Just an Old Chunk of Coal,' Black Sheep' and 'Straight Tequila Night.' I've been playing John Anderson songs since I started in country music back in 1986. I even saw John perform a few times at Billy Bob's In Ft. Worth. It was way cool.

Anderson is, of course, known as a great classic country singer, but his first musical influences included The Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix! How about that?

John is definitely a wonderful legend. With more than 40 singles on the charts (and five No. 1 hits, mind you), he'll be forever remembered in country music.

Check out the KNUE Gold Rush Show with John Moore, Saturday mornings from 8 to 10 a.m. and listen to the best of John Anderson and all your favorites from the 1970s, '80s and '90s.

Now, here's my favorite John Anderson tune, Swingin', of course!
