Journey with AUS is the airport's five-phase expansion and improvement plan. The plans include the second concourse, an Arrival and Departure Hall, parking garages, and more. The new developments will not be funded by Austin taxpayers, according to the development group.

To receive this grant money the airport had to apply for the grant in December 2025.

Additional Funding Supporting the Project

Additional funding for Concourse B has come from the Austin City Council approving $72 million for engineering and architectural services and around $1 billion for pre-construction and construction services, according to the Fly Austin website.

If you love to travel and you live in Texas this is great news. Anything we can do to improve our airports is always a good thing, although Austin-Bergstrom is already a pretty great airport.
