Wednesday night, Brantley Gilbert took the stage in front of 66,000+ folks at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.  Gilbert certainly leans towards the edgier side of country, and apparently that didn't sit well with a reviewer for the Houston Chronicle.

In his write up on Gilbert's show, Joey Guerra said the following:

"...if you sell yourself as a country act, then you should actually play country music. It's unclear exactly what Brantley Gilbert...is doing. There's nothing particularly country about his sound, even by today's loose standards. And he is too muted to be a rock act. His sound just sits somewhere in the middle, never truly committing to anything."

Tonight marks the halfway point of Rodeo Houston as the Zac Brown Band will take the stage.  Other artists still to come include Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, and Dierks Bentley.
