Demi Lovato Covers Alabama Hit ‘Angels Among Us’ for Newtown Victims [VIDEO]
The shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown Connecticut shook the country to its core. People all over the country are finding ways to honor those lost and help the victims of this tragedy. Former Disney darling and current 'X-Factor' judge Demi Lovato honored the town of Newtown with a touching cover of a country music classic.
"We can never imagine what the families in Newtown, CT are experiencing right now. And while there is nothing we can do to replace their loss, we can stand together and support them during this difficult time.
This song is in honor of those angels we lost on December 14."
Then we see Lovato with a pianist and someone playing an acoustic guitar as she begins to sing Alabama's hit 'Angels Among Us.' She changes the lyrics in a few places to make the song pertain to the young victims from Sandy Hook Elementary.
Lovato's voice, typically strong and beautiful, was unusually quiet and even breaking in places due to the emotion she was feeling. While it was different than her norm, it was, well, perfect.
