I proudly tell everyone I meet I'm from East Texas where neighbors look after neighbors. Proudly we are reaching out to help the people in Joplin, MO pick up the pieces with a fellow East Texan - Brad Hawkins.

Brad's family sent me an email telling me about how their sprint racing team is taking the time to bring much needed supplies to the good people in Joplin, MO.  The Hawkins racing team just needed my help getting information to our listeners about the efforts and the list of supplies most needed in Missouri. The Hawkins' Racing trailer is set up in front of the Brookshire's grocery in Whitehouse through Saturday evening.

Of course, KNUE couldn't wait to help. We quickly got the word out on the air.  More relief efforts after the jump.

Yesterday, I met with Brad in Whitehouse to see what more KNUE and our listeners could do to help!  Brad Hawkins shared his commitment to aiding his fellow Americans. I don't mind admitting what a humble, generous and passionate man Mr. Hawkins is!  If you have any questions about this outreach please call Brad at 903-839-7081.  You can  his website for more information.

Early this Sunday, Brad and his crew will be  driving a trailer full of much needed items to the citizens in Joplin who have been devastated by the tornado and left with nothing!

This is where you guys come in.  KNUE listeners, I am calling on you to help us fill this trailer by Saturday night so we can share our love and hearts with the people of Joplin.  Take any items that you can to Brookshires in Whitehouse! The trailer is open just place your items in the trailer!

Some items you might bring are; baby formula, diapers, toiletries, personal hygiene products, toilet paper and clothing.  A huge need is pre-paid phones, many victims have not been able to call their family and tell them they are ok.

This is why I am proud to say, 'I'm from East Texas!' God Bless!
